When insurance started meddling in primary care and family medicine, everybody knew something had to change. Dr. Jonathan Sheldon and Dr. Heather Sowell were the ones who changed it
Their practice, now known as the Sheldon Sowell Center for Health, was the nation’s first concierge medicine practice (though the term wasn’t yet used). To us, however, it was just medical care the way it was meant to be—and that hasn’t changed.
Today, Dr. Cara Pride and Dr. Walker Pride carry on the legacy of Drs. Sheldon and Sowell.
We continue to offer:

DR. WALKER PRIDE
Doctor of Medicine, University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio
Walker Pride is a board-certified internal medicine physician who emphasizes both science and respectful communication in his practice. He received his medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed residency at Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, where he was honored as Outstanding Resident of the Year. Before medical school, he worked in the energy industry in Texas.
DR. CARA PRIDE
Doctor of Medicine, University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio
Dr. Cara Pride is a board-certified family medicine physician specializing in preventive health and chronic disease management. She received her medical degree from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and completed residency at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado. Before medical school, she worked in communications and media production.
