OBESITY AND CANCER
Obesity is rising in young Americans and so are some forms of cancer. That’s probably not a coincidence, researchers recently wrote in Lancet Public Health.
While some cancers have clear causes (think smoking and lung cancer), others stem from complex interactions of health and environmental factors. Of those, obesity is the riskiest — and the likeliest culprit in the cancer spike.
The cancers seen rising in young adults included multiple myeloma, colorectal, endometrial, gallbladder, kidney, and pancreatic.
