It’s official: Burnout is a syndrome. The World Health Organization recently upgraded it (or is that a downgrade?) in the International Disease Classification. As a result, burnout is not a purely subjective condition, but a medical condition that employers may need to pay more attention to.
The WHO said burnout results from “chronic workplace stress.”
