EXERCISE AND THE BRAIN

In another exercise-related study, a University of Colorado team found that moderate exercise in people who were otherwise sedentary had a positive impact on the brain: It led them to crave less food, thus progressively aiding weight loss. But there may be a point at which exercise overtaxes the brain: Endurance athletes were susceptible to fatigue and poor decision-making after overtraining. The study was published in Current Biology and the lead author told CNN it could point the way to interventions to target problem behaviors.
