OLDER ADULTS AND RIDE SHARING

Ride sharing services might seem like an obvious answer to older adults’ mobility issues, but the solution isn’t so obvious to many of the potential customers themselves. They may be tech-phobic or they may have been told so many times to be alert for scams that they won’t give an app their credit card. Fortunately, acceptance does respond to training that takes into account seniors’ readiness to adapt to tech, The New York Times reported. And, many health systems are signing on with Uber and Lyft to offer rides specifically to get patients to appointments and back.
