THE PLUSES AND MINUSES OF HEALTH INSURANCE
THE PLUSES AND MINUSES OF HEALTH INSURANCE
We don’t take health insurance. But that doesn’t necessarily mean you shouldn’t have it.
Our patients intuitively understand why we walked away from insurance-based medicine: because every step a doctor takes toward the insurance companies means taking a step away from patients. And we’ve dedicated ourselves to working for patients, period.
We’d like to repeat the point because it’s so central to the way we function: we don’t work for insurers, we work for you. Because as the saying goes, he who pays the piper calls the tune.
So we keep life simple and our priorities clear: you choose us; we treat you; we bill you; you pay us. That’s the sort of simplicity and, dare we say, honesty, that makes for a successful doctor-patient relationship.
We recognize, however, that insurance is a fact of American life. Few of us would want to face a large hospital bill — there really isn’t any other kind, is there? — without it. And our patient experience specialists are adept at completing and submitting forms so that you’ll get whatever reimbursement you’re entitled to.
